WRTC-FM is the non-commercial radio station of Trinity College. We offer a diverse schedule of 60-plus programs. All of our on-air hosts are volunteers, but there are many expenses.
Much of our financial assistance has traditionally come from our loyal listeners and, more than ever, we rely on your backing to keep us on the air doing what we do best.
We use your donations to continually improve our ability to produce quality, live, community-based radio, 24-hours-a-day, 365 days a year.
Earlier this year, WRTC opened a new broadcast studio which was made possibly by listener donations. The new studio is larger and more comfortable for our hosts and guests, sound-proof to keep us from disturbing the students who live upstairs, and — wonder of wonders — has an exterior window.
Web-audio streaming and archiving annually costs WRTC nearly $2,500. Providing this service is increasingly important as more and more people are getting their “radio” via this route.
We must pay various organizations for the right to broadcast copyrighted music. (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, GMR) We pay a fifth organization for the right to webcast the music. (SoundExchange) This costs us nearly $2,000 annually.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!
